Why Qur'anic Arabic
The Qur'an's meaning is tightly bound to its Arabic. Translations approximate — they cannot replace it. A little Arabic opens a great deal of the text.
A translator must choose among possible meanings — those choices can narrow or tilt what the Arabic holds simultaneously.
A single Arabic word may include legal, moral, spiritual and rhetorical shades that take several English words — or footnotes — to capture.
Verb forms, emphasis particles, pronouns and case endings shape who is addressed, when, how strongly, and under what conditions.
Word order, repetition, oaths, contrast and concise phrasing carry meaning and impact — often flattened in translation.
